Real Estate had a completely new set of challenges I had never navigated before, but learning to keep going—even when I didn’t know the outcome—transformed my life. It taught me the value of always learning, improving, and growing.
I had been living in Utah about 3 years when I ran into the man who would become my husband while I was visiting Bisbee. We had originally met as teenagers but had lost communication. A few months after reconnecting he moved up to Utah to be with me. We’ve been together ever since. As we grew our family, with two young kids, Logan and Colton, we knew it was time to return to our roots. When we moved back to Sierra Vista after 10 years in Utah, it was to be closer to family and be back in the area we knew and loved.
Resettling in Sierra Vista was a breath of fresh air, but the dog grooming scene was nothing like what I’d known in Utah. Even with more than a decade of experience in corporate shops, private salons, and management, I quickly saw that groomers here worked against each other instead of together. I knew it wasn’t an environment I wanted to be part of.
That’s when my husband suggested real estate. We’d just purchased our house here, and our experience had left me thinking I could do this and really bring something different to the table. Before I knew it, our move home also turned into a new chapter professionally. I earned my license at the end of 2017 and started working at ERA Four Feathers the following January. That’s when the real work began.
My entire life I had been in a variety of highly structured roles. Starting with the Army at 18, working as a 911 dispatcher, and a variety of other professions, each role had a clear task list and a start and end to your day. Real estate doesn’t give you any of that. There’s no roadmap, no fixed schedule, and no guaranteed paycheck. If you’re not the one driving it forward, nothing happens.
At the beginning of my real estate career, I was grooming dogs out of my house just to pay for groceries. My husband was carrying a lot of the financial weight. He’s worked in tile and flooring for over 20 years and provided stability as I chased my dream.
Everyone had advice: buy leads, do cold calls, try this, try that. It was like drinking from a firehose. I had to become self-driven in a way I’d never had to before. I made mistakes, had to build my own processes that worked for me, and learned everything the hard way. But I was lucky to be surrounded by good people—smart, helpful agents and a great broker. With time, I started to find my own rhythm.
The year COVID hit a client featured me on his YouTube channel about off-grid living. I started getting calls from all over about land and ended up closing 46 transactions in 2022. Although I have much experience in land deals, my real passion is residential real estate. I enjoy getting to help people navigate through these major life decisions.
I love the research, the problem-solving and the fact that every transaction brings something new to figure out. But above all, I love the people I get to help. Every client comes with their own situation, their own stress, and their own goals. My job is to guide them through the process, keep them informed, and make sure they feel supported. The best part is at the closing table—seeing them so thankful, so happy, and finally able to breathe. That moment makes all the work worth it.
This journey has taken me to places I never imagined, and I’ve learned so much. There was no roadmap when I came into real estate, but there rarely is in life. What matters is being open to challenges, willing to learn along the way, and showing up even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed. That mindset has not only shaped my career but also how I approach every new experience in life.
One thing I take pride in is the level of service I give my clients. I answer my phone, I stay on top of timelines, and I make sure no detail slips through the cracks. When I’m working with buyers, I dig into the history of a property, and make sure they have all relevant information to make an informed decision. I connect them with the right inspectors, and walk them through what to expect at every stage so nothing catches them off guard. With sellers, I think outside the box in negotiations and make sure they understand the pros and cons of every offer on the table. Most of all, I listen. Every client and every situation is different, and I take the time to understand their needs instead of assuming. That’s how I make sure they feel confident, supported, and cared for from start to finish.
Outside of work, I spend as much time as I can with my family. With our two boys, three dogs, and two cats, we stay very busy and also enjoy being homebodies. We also like movies, quiet nights in, and the occasional hike when the weather is nice. We have found our place in both life and work within the Sierra Vista community.
Sincerely,
